Why does a doctor die before his patients

Abstract

The purpose of the study is to analyze the health status of doctors in connection with unfavorable organizational and psychological factors of their professional activities. The article presents data on the duration and quality of life of doctors, their state of health, mental, psychosomatic and somatic diseases. The research material was published in the open press, in particular, according to MEDLINE and PubMed, domestic and foreign articles and monographs on the studied problem. The main risk factors leading to a decrease in the level of psychological well-being and deterioration of the health of doctors of various specialties were investigated and analyzed. The conditions of professional activity of doctors are considered, the requirements for them, as a rule, exceeding the psychological and psychophysiological resources of medical workers, as well as due to chronic emotional tension in the process of performing professional activities. Psychological factors adversely affecting the mental state of medical workers are presented. Conclusions are formulated on the organization of measures aimed at leveling risk factors, preventing emotional combustion, improving health and improving the quality of life of doctors.
