<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>The family is the first institution of socialization for any child. The role of family and especially mother for a child with a disability or disability is even higher. Researchers, considering the role of the family in raising a child with disabilities, focus on the presence of stress in the parents and the need to cope with stress, while the personal characteristics of the parents themselves are out of the focus of study. Accentuation of character in parents can indeed have a significant impact on the development of a disabled child. Character accentuations are the expression of certain personality traits that are on the border between norm and pathology. Depending on the type of accentuation, parents may exhibit certain behavioral features that affect their interaction with the child and the perception of his characteristics.</p><p>The article reflected the results of a study of dominant accentuations in parents raising children with disabilities. The study did not take into account the nosological group of the child, but all children had confirmed status of a child with HIA. The study involved 144 mothers of children of preschool and primary school age. The dominant accentuations turned out to be hyperthymic, hysterical-demonstrative, emotive and stuck types of mother accentuations.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>акцентуации</kwd><kwd>демонстративный тип</kwd><kwd>эмотивный тип</kwd><kwd>застревающий тип</kwd><kwd>гипертимный тип</kwd><kwd>родители</kwd><kwd>дети с ограниченными возможностями здоровья</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>accentuations</kwd><kwd>parents</kwd><kwd>children with disabilities</kwd><kwd>demonstrative type</kwd><kwd>emotive type</kwd><kwd>stuck type</kwd><kwd>hyperthymic type</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">Арзикулов А. А.
